Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that summer signing Facundo Pellistri will play his first game in a United shirt for the Under-23s tonight (Friday).
Pellistri, Brandon Williams and Marcos Rojo are all set to feature for Neil Wood’s side as they take on Everton at Leigh Sports Village from 7pm.
The trio are likely to be joined by Ethan Galbraith and Teden Mengi, after Unitedmade a number of players available for Under-23 action. Due to covid-19 restrictions, United have to keep their training groups separate, which kept Mengi out of action for games earlier this season.
But Solskjaer gave an update on how he’s moved players between squads and a hint over tonight’s team news.
“It is a different bubble so, with the current regulations, they can’t go on the same coach, they can’t be in the same dressing room, with all the testing and things,” Solskjaer toldMUTV.
“That’s complicated things a little bit but, then again, if we take precautions and they travel by themselves and if they’re not in the dressing room or in the meeting, which isn’t great for a coach not to have his whole team.
“But tonight we’ll have a few [playing]. Facundo will play tonight to get his first taste of English football, Marcos Rojo will play because he needs to build up his fitness and Brandon’s going to play. He needs minutes as well.
“He’s a played a little bit this season and for the Under-21s for England and for us, but just needs to keep that match fitness then we know they’re ready for next week.”

During the week we’re often walking out the door with a coffee in one hand and slice of toast in the other, but on weekends breakfast is never rushed. It’s a late affair, sometimes spilling over to lunch, with lots of reading and chatter in between courses of fruits, poached eggs, honey and toast. One of our favorite things we like to serve when friends are visiting are buckwheat blueberry pancakes.
There’s nothing better than a warm bowl of pumpkin soup on a cold autumn day. Combine your roasted pumpkin with some onion, garlic, vegetable broth, and a few spices, and give it some time to simmer away. Pair it with a few slices of fresh bread to turn it into something sublime.
